Job description
As a Qualcomm CPU Engineer, you will lead innovative Central Processing Unit (CPU) design efforts that significantly impact various industries. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, verify, and implement multi-core CPU operations. This role requires a deep understanding of computer architecture and the ability to drive the development of high-performance and low-power CPU designs. You will also oversee complex problem-solving to ensure design completeness and functionality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of relevant work experience, or a Master's degree with 7+ years, or a PhD with 6+ years.
- 16+ years of work experience with high-performance microprocessor design.
- 16+ years of work experience with high level programming languages such as C or C++.
- 16+ years of work experience with scripting languages like Perl or Python.
- 16+ years of experience with simulators and/or waveform debugging tools such as Verilog or VHDL.
- 16+ years of experience with industry standard tools for synthesis, place and/or route, and design verification.
- 16+ years of experience in simulation, emulation, formal verification, or silicon validation.
- 4+ years in a technical leadership role.
- 3+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
- 2+ years of experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership.
- 2+ years of experience working with operating budgets and/or project financials.
Responsibilities
- Leverage expert knowledge of computer architecture and micro-architecture to direct the development of CPU designs.
- Oversee the identification and solutions of complex problems to ensure design completeness and performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and trade-offs for product goals.
- Direct the evaluation of the design process from conceptualization to productization.
- Communicate guidelines for writing detailed technical documentation for CPU designs.
