Amazon is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join the Mechanical Products and Services team within AWS Infrastructure Services. This role focuses on the analysis, design, coordination, and documentation of structural cooling products that support AWS infrastructure. The ideal candidate will work closely with various engineering teams to develop safe and scalable solutions for cooling systems. This position offers the opportunity to impact projects at scale, with designs implemented across multiple facilities worldwide.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
• Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance
• Professional Engineering or Architectural License
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents

• Develop structural calculations and design documentation for cooling systems and associated infrastructure.
• Support the development of structural permit documents, installation drawings, fabrication information, and coordinated BIM models.
• Design structural connections from building structures and platforms to equipment, ensuring load path integrity and code compliance.
• Create specialized connection details for unique conditions including seismic zones and retrofit applications.
• Design and evaluate lateral and sway bracing systems for equipment and structural support systems.
• Perform comprehensive structural analysis and design calculations for cooling products.
• Develop clear, organized calculation packages documenting design assumptions, loading criteria, analysis methodology, and results.
• Verify equipment vendor load data and coordinate with manufacturers on structural requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of standardized structural engineering procedures, workflows, and design systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, constructability, fabrication, installation, coordination, and overall project delivery.
