The Senior Network Planning Engineer will join Apple's Infrastructure Services team, which is essential for managing the global network operations that support Apple's vast array of services. This role focuses on capacity planning and infrastructure lifecycle management across Apple's Global Backbone, edge, and core datacenters. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in IP and Optical networking to evaluate investments and translate architectural designs into actionable deployment packages. This position requires strong project management skills and the ability to communicate effectively across various teams.

• Hands-on experience in network planning, network procurement, or network infrastructure operations.
• Strong working knowledge of both IP and Optical network planning concepts.
• Demonstrated experience building business cases and investment justifications for Dark Fiber and datacenter colocation facilities.
• Deep technical understanding of core and edge datacenter facility environments.
• Experience with predictive analytics and capacity forecasting models.
• Strong technical project management skills with a proven ability to lead complex infrastructure programs.
• Familiarity with Apple internal infrastructure tooling or equivalent operational platforms.
• Strong market knowledge of global telecom operators and dark fiber providers.
• Experience working with data analysis and automation tools.
• Experience with commercial carrier engagement and contract coordination.
• Project management certification or equivalent practical experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related technical discipline.

• Evaluate and plan investments across metro and long-haul Dark Fiber, Submarine cable systems, and datacenter colocation facilities.
• Translate architectural designs and traffic growth trends into scoped deployment packages.
• Build multi-year capacity forecasts for optical transport and IP router chassis/ports.
• Manage global carrier delivery and drive cross-functional project management.
• Maintain cross-functional project tracking and communicate technical, financial, and schedule status.
• Manage end-to-end carrier delivery workflows, including FOC tracking and testing/acceptance.
• Lead complex, multi-region infrastructure programs from scoping through in-service delivery.
