The cloudOS System Software Engineering team is focused on developing secure server software for the Apple Silicon server platform that supports Private Cloud Compute. This role seeks an exceptional security engineer to architect and develop low-level, secure software that aligns with Apple's product security and customer privacy principles. The engineer will work on system software components and own the attestation architecture for the server platform. Collaboration with various teams across Apple is essential to ensure the security of the next generation of data centers.

• 7+ years of experience in security engineering.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages.
• Background in developing and maintaining security-critical codebases.
• Understanding of applied cryptography, cryptography hardware, and key management.
• Experience with mutual authentication and hardware-based attestation.
• Strong understanding of hardware/software interactions and low-level software.
• Experience in defining and designing secure embedded systems.
• Familiarity with server component firmware and ARM SoC architecture.
• Knowledge of emerging security exploit types targeting low-level systems.
• Experience in building and operating production services for security verification.
• Familiarity with Swift, Objective-C, and Apple development tools.

• Build and maintain system software such as kernel drivers, runtime libraries, frameworks, and daemons.
• Own the attestation architecture for the server platform.
• Define what is measured and how component identities are sealed during manufacturing.
• Build services that provide authoritative answers regarding the state of machines in data centers.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with security teams, system software, and cloud services teams.
• Secure systems by demonstrating potential vulnerabilities.
• Contribute to team objectives by stepping out of comfort zones.
