The Staff Material Flow Engineer at Rivian will be a key member of the Supply Chain team, responsible for engineering end-to-end supply chain, logistics, and material flow processes. This role emphasizes ownership of the engineering process from concept design to implementation, ensuring high-quality work and rapid project deployment. The engineer will lead automation efforts and high-impact projects that integrate physical logistics with digital intelligence. This position is based in Normal, IL and reports to the Manager of Material Flow Engineering.

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of supply chain or material flow engineering functional experience.
• 5+ years with data-based development of end-to-end supply chain, logistics, and/or material flow processes for high volume, high complexity production or logistics facilities.
• 3+ years’ experience in layout planning using 2D or 3D design platforms.
• 1+ years’ experience with modeling or simulation software.
• 1+ years’ experience working with data visualization tools.
• Strong analytical ability to break down complex problems and data sets.

• Develop large-scale supply chain and logistics processes from external warehouses to the assembly line.
• Design detailed processes including value-stream, logistics, routing, and warehouse design.
• Implement material flow equipment such as conveyors and automated systems.
• Develop models to analyze cost, throughput, and space factors for material flow strategies.
• Plan, manage, and communicate project schedules to ensure alignment with program milestones.
• Ensure safety, quality, cost, timing, and throughput targets are achieved on all projects.
• Lead automation of supply chain logistics and high-impact projects leveraging AI.
