Rivian is seeking a proactive and driven Sr. Quality Engineer to join its Electric Vehicle manufacturing team. This role focuses on leading responses to customer quality issues and conducting root-cause analyses to enhance manufacturing quality. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve urgent quality issues and ensure customer satisfaction. This position requires a strong background in quality engineering, particularly within the automotive or EV sectors.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics, or a related field)
• 4+ years of dedicated quality engineering experience, preferably within automotive or EV manufacturing
• Strong working knowledge of core quality tools and standards, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC and 8D methodology
• Proven experience managing customer complaints and driving containment actions in high-volume production environments
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead fast-response teams effectively under pressure
• Demonstrated project management skills and high level summary for plant quality awareness
• Ability to travel at least 20% and cover 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts if needed
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus

• Own the end-to-end customer complaint process for EV manufacturing issues
• Identify and solve quality issues within factory quality gates
• React quickly to quality escalations and initiate immediate containment actions
• Lead structured investigations and prepare professional customer-facing reports
• Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams to resolve urgent manufacturing and field quality issues
• Investigate complex component failures using established problem-solving tools
• Conduct production line audits to verify the effectiveness of containment actions
• Provide real-time data analysis and quality feedback to support EV production goals
• Update essential quality documents based on lessons learned from field and manufacturing issues
