The Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) Serverless team is seeking a cleared Systems Development Engineer to enhance operational efficiency and deliver serverless and container solutions for U.S. Government agencies. This role involves building automation and tooling to improve AWS Lambda and container services in air-gapped environments. The engineer will focus on eliminating operational toil and ensuring system reliability while collaborating with commercial service teams. A successful candidate will possess a TS/SCI security clearance and a strong background in software development.

• Bachelor's degree or CSSLP certification.
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 1+ years of experience designing or architecting systems.
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals including networking, storage, and operating systems.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above.
• Experience with distributed systems at scale.
• Experience building services using AWS products.
• Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology.

• Design and build automation, tooling, and CI/CD pipelines for AWS Lambda and container services.
• Identify and eliminate operational toil through software by replacing manual processes with self-service tools.
• Diving deep into service inter-dependencies to find root causes and drive permanent resolutions through code.
• Proactively identify and resolve system variances that could affect major services globally.
• Build and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability systems for fault tolerance.
• Collaborate with commercial service teams to implement ADC-specific adaptations.
