This role involves designing and implementing kernel-mode drivers and embedded firmware while collaborating with various engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle. The engineer will work on both pre-silicon and post-silicon phases, ensuring the reliability and performance of the interconnect solutions. Strong programming skills in C and C++ are essential for this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant software, firmware, or systems development experience.
  • Strong programming skills in C and/or C++, along with proficiency in Python or a comparable scripting language.
  • Experience in operating-system kernels, device drivers, embedded firmware, or low-level system software.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and hardware/software interaction.
  • Experience debugging complex systems using various diagnostic tools.
  • Experience with software engineering practices including design, peer review, and testing.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain NVLink Fusion features across low-level software layers.
  • Drive features across the product lifecycle from requirements to production support.
  • Develop unit, integration, and system-level tests and diagnostics.
  • Debug complex hardware, firmware, kernel, and system-level issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to validate and debug platforms.
  • Develop low-level production software primarily in C and C++.
  • Lead and participate in design and code reviews to improve software quality.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
