The AWS Payments & Fraud Prevention team is seeking a talented Software Development Engineer (SDE) to build scalable distributed systems that protect millions of customers from fraud. This role involves designing and implementing systems that process millions of events per second and developing machine learning-powered detection pipelines. The team focuses on real-time fraud detection and graph-based intelligence solutions to enhance AWS security. You will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with applied scientists and mentoring teammates to drive engineering excellence.

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
• 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

• Design, implement, and operate highly scalable distributed systems that process millions of events per second.
• Build real-time fraud detection pipelines using Apache Flink for stream processing and anomaly detection.
• Develop graph-based intelligence solutions on AWS Neptune to identify fraud rings.
• Write high-quality, production-ready code for services that must be available 24/7.
