Job description
The ISP Silicon Validation Engineer role at Google involves developing custom silicon solutions that enhance the performance of Google's consumer products. The team focuses on pushing technological boundaries by combining AI, software, and hardware to create innovative experiences. This position requires collaboration with various teams to ensure robust hardware functionality and performance. The engineer will work on both pre-silicon and post-silicon validation processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 1 year of experience in computer architecture, memory management, and low-level hardware components.
- Experience programming in C for low-level, embedded, microcontroller, or baremetal applications.
- Experience writing code to interface directly with hardware, including handling interrupts and manipulating peripherals.
- Experience in scripting for automation or analytical data collection, such as Python or Bash.
Responsibilities
- Translate hardware specifications into test suites and execute them across pre-silicon and post-silicon environments.
- Architect and write custom validation pipelines primarily in C for baremetal environments.
- Validate the functionality and performance of real-time and non-real-time hardware accelerators.
- Collaborate with Architecture, RTL Design, and Software teams to address hardware-software boundary bugs.
- Develop analytical scripts and validation frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and data collection.
