Job description

The Senior Software Engineer role focuses on developing advanced technologies in Generative AI, Physical AI, and Robotics at Google. The team aims to create an autonomous Physical AI Agent that can interact with XR devices, mimicking human behavior and perception. This position requires expertise in software development, particularly in C++ and Python, and involves working on projects that push the boundaries of AI and robotics. The engineer will contribute to building robust software pipelines and validating real-world interactions with multimodal AI assistants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in C++ or Python.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
  • 1 year of experience with state of the art GenAI techniques or related concepts.
  • Experience with modern robotics frameworks, kinematic motion planning, actuator control, and sensor integration.

Responsibilities

  • Build robust, low-latency C++ and Python software pipelines for robotic motion planning and trajectory tracking.
  • Deploy robotic arms and Vision-Language-Action foundation models to autonomously interact with smart glasses.
  • Emulate human sight, speech, and hearing for real-time interactions with multimodal AI assistants.
  • Leverage mobile and kinematic robotic platforms to model human kinematics and train robust policies.
  • Build agentic harnesses that translate natural language user journeys into synchronized physical execution.
