The Highway Engineer will join Jacobs' Alaska Transportation team to develop innovative roadway solutions that enhance safety and accessibility. This role involves collaborating with transportation experts, planners, and project managers to address critical transportation challenges. The team supports a variety of projects including highways, traffic improvements, and multimodal facilities. The engineer will contribute to creating safer and more resilient transportation networks for communities.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain it within one year.
• Experience delivering highway, roadway, or transportation design projects.
• Proficiency with roadway design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or OpenRoads Designer.

• Support the planning and design of roadway safety improvements and intersection upgrades.
• Prepare plans, specifications, quantities, cost estimates, and technical documentation.
• Apply AASHTO, state DOT, and local design standards to develop practical engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to improve safety, accessibility, and mobility for all roadway users.
• Participate in quality reviews and support project delivery throughout all phases of design.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to Jacobs' culture of technical excellence and innovation.
