Job description
As a Modem Software Engineer at Qualcomm, you will be part of the Modem Systems Software team, which focuses on developing low-level firmware and protocol software for cellular connectivity. This role emphasizes AI-native development practices, where you will leverage AI-assisted tools to enhance the software development lifecycle. You will work closely with embedded systems, optimizing real-time software for Qualcomm's modem subsystem. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and efficiency of modem software across various devices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong command of data structures and algorithms with the ability to reason about time and space complexity.
- Proven programming proficiency in modern C/C++ including performance optimization and cache-aware design.
- Experience with embedded software on DSP and Arm architectures.
- Familiarity with debugging on target hardware and using tools like JTAG and logic analyzers.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize real-time embedded modem software across protocol layers and drivers.
- Own end-to-end feature delivery including requirements, architecture, implementation, and testing.
- Pioneer AI-native development practices by integrating AI coding agents into daily workflows.
- Build and maintain AI-assisted tooling for code review and automated crash/log triage.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with systems, hardware, test, and integration teams to deliver production-quality firmware.
