The Senior Civil Engineer will lead the planning, design, and production of civil engineering deliverables for Federal site development projects. This role requires strong technical expertise in site development, grading, drainage, utility design, and stormwater management. The engineer will serve as a technical leader and Designer of Record, ensuring project quality and timely execution while mentoring junior staff. This position supports various U.S. Department of Defense and Federal Civilian agencies and operates in a hybrid work environment.

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) is mandatory.
• A Professional Engineer (PE) license is necessary.
• At least 10 years of civil site development design experience is required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is essential.
• Experience with grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, and site design is needed.
• Strong understanding of municipal codes, permitting requirements, and industry design standards is expected.
• Experience in preparing technical specifications and construction documents is required.
• Experience supporting construction administration activities, including RFIs and submittals, is necessary.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff and lead design efforts is essential.

• Lead civil site development design from concept through construction.
• Develop civil engineering plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Perform site layout, utility, roadway, grading, drainage, and pavement design.
• Complete hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, including stormwater detention and water quality design.
• Design storm drainage systems, detention ponds, erosion and sediment control measures, and utility infrastructure.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, technical studies, and project specifications.
• Research and apply applicable municipal, state, federal, and project-specific regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection disciplines.
• Serve as Designer of Record (DOR) and seal construction documents as required.
• Manage discipline budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
• Perform quality control reviews and ensure compliance with company and client standards.
• Present technical solutions and findings to clients and project stakeholders.
• Execute complex and non-routine assignments with minimal supervision.
• Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Review contractor submittals and shop drawings.
• Support change order evaluations and construction-phase services.
• Conduct field investigations and site observations as required.
• Coordinate with survey teams and oversee topographic and utility surveying efforts when necessary.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers.
• Provide ongoing technical guidance and quality reviews.
• Support staff growth through training and project coaching.
