Citi is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join a high-performing Technology team focused on delivering complex software applications that support business-critical systems. The role involves acting as a subject matter expert in application development, influencing technical standards, and mentoring peers. The developer will work autonomously to design and implement solutions that are secure and scalable, while collaborating with various teams to achieve business objectives. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

• 5+ years of development experience with strong hands-on expertise in Java backend engineering.
• Deep proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, including the design and delivery of microservices-based systems.
• Solid experience building frontend applications with Angular and knowledge of JavaScript.
• Demonstrated ability to apply DevSecOps principles and CI/CD tooling throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with relational databases (MSSQL, Oracle) or NoSQL platforms.
• Fundamental understanding of cloud platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of testing frameworks like JUNIT, Cucumber, and Jasmine/Mocha.

• Execute and drive application design and development efforts to completion.
• Analyze and troubleshoot coding, application performance, and design challenges.
• Participate in design discussions as a Development Lead and make key design decisions.
• Work with limited guidance to define development and delivery strategies.
• Communicate progress and manage issues and risks effectively.
• Streamline processes in architecture, build, delivery, and production operations.
• Share knowledge with the team and demonstrate expertise through industry certifications.
