The Principal Software Engineer is a strategic professional responsible for defining the technology strategy for the Digital team at Citi. This role requires excellent communication and leadership skills to guide and influence teams while managing significant business results. The engineer will work independently, making impactful decisions on technology designs and approaches. Additionally, the position involves mentoring lower-level architects and contributing to the overall technical strategy and innovation within the organization.

• 10+ years of relevant experience in an Enterprise Architecture role with subject matter expertise in one or more areas.
• Expertise in technology patterns and techniques applicable to Citi’s internal and external cloud platforms.
• Demonstrated Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Applications Development.
• Experience in architecting and operationalizing end-to-end Generative AI solutions.
• Strong knowledge of emerging technologies and best practices.

• Define the technology strategy for the Digital team in alignment with Citi Technology.
• Collaborate to create reliable, scalable, and high-performance services and architectures.
• Provide leadership and guidance to teams responsible for continuous improvement of products.
• Assist in planning and managing assignments involving large budgets and multiple projects.
• Act as an advisor or coach to new or lower-level architects.
