Job description
As a Sr. Principal Engineer in Software Application Architecture, you will be pivotal in shaping the technical direction of software architecture across various domains. You will focus on designing scalable, secure, and resilient software solutions while influencing development tools and coding standards. The role is part of Intel's Software group, which aims to enhance hardware solutions through advanced software technology. Your work will involve collaborating with multiple teams to turn telemetry data into actionable business insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 12+ years of experience; or Master's with 8+; or PhD with 6+.
- 10+ years building field telemetry and data collection systems at scale, spanning millions of endpoints and thousands of data points.
- Deep knowledge of Intel client platform architecture and OS internals across Windows and Linux.
- Proven software architecture skills for scalability, security, and resiliency in high-volume ingestion, storage, and analysis pipelines.
- Hands-on development experience with modern data lake and analytics stacks such as Snowflake and Databricks.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical architecture for the end-to-end telemetry platform.
- Drive the crash analytics and reliability modeling stack to enhance root cause analysis.
- Scale ingestion and analysis across millions of endpoints while maintaining high flighting success.
- Partner with product architecture, validation, quality, and customer-enabling teams to leverage telemetry data.
- Set engineering standards, mentor teams, and define metrics for quality health.
