Job description
NVIDIA is seeking an Engineering Build Manager to oversee engineering build activities for new products. This role involves leading multi-functional teams to ensure the successful planning and execution of hardware prototype builds. The manager will interact with suppliers and vendors while optimizing planning, cost, and logistics. A strong focus on quality standards and timely prototype distribution is essential for this position.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within an engineering, manufacturing, or operations environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Strong manufacturing and R&D background with knowledge of project management techniques and tools.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
- Very strong leadership, facilitation, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Responsibilities
- Independently create and update plans that achieve project objectives.
- Identify and track key milestones, evaluate, acquire, and handle resources.
- Resolve the accurate number of prototypes needed by each group for each engineering build.
- Interact with suppliers and vendors to ensure project success.
- Define tasks, drive assignments, and lead the progress of engineering builds.
- Optimize engineering build planning, cost, schedule, logistics, staffing, testing, and communication.
- Identify risks and develop and execute risk management plans.
- Ensure proper prototype distribution in a timely manner.
- Regularly provide leadership team with project status reports.
- Assist in improving existing models and processes to enhance infrastructure.
