Job description

The Site Quality Engineer will join the team at Cummins in Bloomfield, CT, focusing on ensuring product quality and compliance with manufacturing processes. This role involves leading corrective action processes to address quality concerns and supporting product and process changes. The engineer will analyze quality data to identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and effective communication with stakeholders will be key to achieving quality outcomes.

Requirements

  • A college, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject is preferred.
  • Minimal to intermediate level of relevant work experience is required.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical tools and ability to use Minitab for process improvements is necessary.
  • Understanding and deployment of Statistical Process Control (SPC) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead containment activities and corrective action processes to resolve customer and plant quality concerns.
  • Ensure products and manufacturing processes comply with quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Support product and process changes by verifying readiness and validating key performance measures.
  • Analyze quality data and performance trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Serve as a quality resource for cross-functional teams, providing technical guidance.
  • Support and lead quality audits to ensure compliance with established procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing.
  • Contribute to successful product launches and safe launch activities by applying core tools.
