Job description

The Fiber Delivery Engineer role on the Cloud Interconnection + Acquisitions Team at Microsoft focuses on building a world-class network infrastructure. This position involves working with various fiber technologies to support Microsoft's online services. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial team support by offering technical expertise and drawings for diversity, identification POE, and internal routing to termination points.
  • Manage frontline technical project management with external suppliers by tracking construction schedules and producing reports.
  • Review FC Results to ensure compliance with Microsoft Core Fiber Standards and produce as-build documentation.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections during the delivery phase, either remotely or by traveling to sites.
  • Manage remediation activities with suppliers and independent third-party Fiber Characterization Teams.
  • Communicate status and produce reports to cross-functional teams and leadership.
