Job description
The Software Engineer position on the Purview Infrastructure Engineering (PINE) team focuses on enhancing the scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency of Microsoft Purview across various cloud environments. The team is responsible for building automation, improving deployment practices, and developing validation frameworks to support faster service onboarding and reliable operations. Candidates will work collaboratively across engineering teams to drive successful delivery outcomes while contributing to technical design discussions. This role requires self-driven engineers who are eager to learn and grow in a collaborative environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- 1+ year of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Rust, or Python, or a Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Experience with CI/CD systems and Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Azure DevOps, Bicep, Terraform, or ARM.
- Experience building or operating cloud-based services on Azure.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automation for deployment, validation, and operational workflows across various cloud environments.
- Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and service onboarding experiences to enhance deployment consistency and reliability.
- Build telemetry, monitoring, and operational tooling to improve system health and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with service teams, platform teams, and feature owners to deliver cloud-ready solutions.
- Investigate and resolve reliability, deployment, and operational issues while identifying opportunities for automation.
