As a Modem Software Engineer at Qualcomm, you will be part of the Modem Systems Software team, which focuses on developing low-level firmware and protocol software for cellular connectivity. This role emphasizes the integration of AI-native practices into the software development lifecycle, enhancing efficiency and quality. You will work closely with hardware and systems teams to deliver production-quality modem firmware. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 2+ years of relevant work experience, or a Master's degree with 1+ year of experience, or a PhD in a related field.

• Design, implement, and optimize real-time embedded modem software across protocol layers, drivers, and platform services.
• Apply rigorous data-structure and algorithm design to build efficient, scalable firmware components.
• Own end-to-end feature delivery, including requirements, architecture, implementation, unit/integration testing, and maintenance.
• Pioneer AI-native development practices within the team by integrating AI coding agents into daily workflows.
• Build and maintain AI-assisted tooling for code review, static analysis, test synthesis, and automated crash/log triage.
• Debug and root-cause complex, multi-layer issues on target hardware using AI-assisted analysis.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with systems, hardware, test, and integration teams to deliver production-quality modem firmware.
• Contribute to code reviews, design reviews, and continuous improvement of engineering standards.
