The Software Engineer II role at Microsoft Defender involves working on advanced cloud security products to protect millions of computers from cyber threats. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
Responsibilities
- Use appropriate AI tools and practices across the software development lifecycle in a disciplined manner.
- Support efforts to proactively verify assumptions before issues occur for product features in production.
- Review product feature code and test code to ensure it meets team standards and contains the correct test coverage.
- Create and implement code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable.
- Understand and provide feedback for proposals for architecture, testing various design options.
- Contribute to the identification of requirements for automation within production and deployment of complex product features.
- Maintain operations of live site service, responding quickly to mitigate issues while following security best practices.
- Work with internal stakeholders to understand and determine customer/user requirements for a set of features.
