Jacobs is seeking a Geotechnical Design Engineer/Construction Inspector to join their team in St. Louis, MO. This role focuses on overseeing on-site operations to ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, and to high-quality standards. The position requires strong leadership and communication skills to coordinate crews and enforce safety compliance. The engineer will apply geotechnical principles to ensure soil, foundation, and earthwork integrity while driving productivity and resolving challenges.

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Previous professional experience in construction quality control with an emphasis on geotechnical aspects.
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation design, and geotechnical testing procedures.
• Familiarity with building codes, inspection processes, and safety standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft OneNote and other project documentation tools.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Local to St. Louis, MO and ability to commute to the project site.

• Monitor and verify soil conditions, compaction, and grading per project specifications.
• Oversee foundation preparation, earthwork operations, and excavation safety.
• Coordinate geotechnical testing and review lab results.
• Ensure compliance with geotechnical design parameters and identify potential subsurface risks.
• Inspect work for adherence to plans, specifications, and geotechnical standards.
• Attend daily coordination meetings with the Superintendent to review quality control issues.
• Serve as point of contact for geotechnical testing agencies and inspection teams.
• Lead daily site kickoff meetings to communicate safety and quality control priorities.
• Assist Site Team Lead to supervise all on-site activities to ensure work is completed safely and on time.
• Enforce safety protocols and conduct daily safety briefings.
