Job description
The Yield System Development Engineer role at Intel focuses on optimizing and maintaining metrology systems for semiconductor manufacturing. The team is dedicated to enhancing yield systems through collaboration with various internal teams, ensuring product integrity and process stability. This position emphasizes the use of statistical analysis, machine learning, and coding techniques to drive yield improvements. The engineer will play a critical role in transforming data into actionable insights to enhance manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 2+ years in Engineering or Science disciplines such as Software Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical, Applied Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering OR Master's degree or higher.
- Experience with software coding (i.e. Python, C#/.NET, HTML, JavaScript etc.) with an emphasis in ML/AI.
- Experience with statistical analysis and analytical methods.
- Experience in application of domain knowledge to curate analysis-ready datasets.
- 1+ years of experience in an advanced manufacturing environment (semiconductor device fabrication, packaging, or assembly, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, etc.).
- At least two (2) of the following: Working knowledge of source control tools (Git), SQL proficiency (intermediate or better), or 2+ years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting manufacturing automation systems.
Responsibilities
- Perform statistical analysis and develop visualizations to construct accurate process development roadmaps.
- Develop methods and systems to analyze diverse big data sources, leading to yield modeling and process roadmap definition.
- Develop and maintain systems that enable faster interpretation of fab process, defect, and electrical data to drive process changes for yield enhancement.
- Apply statistics, machine learning, and coding techniques to extract insights from large volumes of data.
- Transform experimental and manufacturing data into yield improvement actions.
- Ensure manufacturability over process and product design through thorough analysis.
- Execute new product introductions and participate in design of experiments.
- Develop tools and algorithms for high-volume data analysis to identify yield limiters.
- Harden equipment systems to meet operational needs for leading-edge logic nodes.
- Develop AI/ML applications to improve patterning solutions and design efficiency.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure data integrity and implement custom algorithms.
