The Image Quality & Qualification team at Apple is looking for an image quality lab automation engineer to enhance the testing and evaluation of the camera system. This role involves designing and conducting camera image quality investigations while developing custom automation solutions for the Camera Imaging lab. The engineer will collaborate with various cross-functional teams to influence the performance and image quality of Apple's iOS cameras. A strong understanding of image quality metrics and camera hardware is essential for success in this position.

• BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Imaging Science, or a related field
• Expertise in at least one programming language such as Bash, Python, MATLAB, Swift, or C++
• Technical familiarity with imaging algorithms and pipelines
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of photography and camera terminology
• Familiarity with ISO standard Image Quality Metrics

• Design custom lab tests for novel features, algorithms, or hardware solutions
• Analyze results to influence major decisions across various Apple camera teams
• Develop custom automation solutions for the Camera Imaging lab
• Conduct and present analysis of Camera Image Quality investigations
• Collaborate with cross-functional Camera teams to enhance image quality
