The Camera Electrical Engineer role at Google focuses on developing hardware for camera modules within the Devices & Services team. This team integrates AI, software, and hardware to enhance user experiences through innovative technologies. The engineer will work on system architecture, component requirements, and hardware design to support camera features. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to address challenges and improve imaging technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of programming experience in Python or Matlab and experience using AI agents to create/debug prototype code.
- 2 years of experience in hardware development in high-volume consumer electronics.
Responsibilities
- Derive a reasonable system architecture for system resources and power efficiency while providing hardware hooks to support camera features.
- Determine component-level requirements and develop schematics for camera modules containing image sensors, microcontrollers, and high-speed interfaces.
- Perform schematic capture, PCB/Flex layout supervision, and simulations to meet high-speed signal integrity and low-noise power supply requirements.
- Conduct system-level bring-up, validation, and debugging, and document and present validation data.
- Support hardware prototyping and validation for new imaging technologies.
