Job description

This summer intern position focuses on advanced mechatronics systems within KLA's Metrology division. The role emphasizes hands-on experience in a corporate environment, working collaboratively with design engineers to develop custom control systems for high-precision wafer stages. Interns will engage in data collection and analysis while managing projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities. This opportunity allows for skill development in a cutting-edge technology field.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. degree program with a minimum GPA of 3.5.
  • A Master's degree is preferred in electrical, robotics, control systems, mechanical engineering, data science, or a related field.
  • Experience in machine vision, precision machine design, or machine learning.
  • Experience in the validation of hardware systems.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and work with design engineers to design advanced metrology systems.
  • Work independently on data collection, analysis, and managing projects.
  • Perform hands-on work with hardware and gather necessary data in the lab or cleanroom.
  • Present technical analysis in both verbal and written formats to the team.
  • Work within specified timelines and milestones.
  • Identify gaps and propose solutions in the implementation.
  • Modify tuning algorithms as needed.
  • Use first principles in design work when necessary.
