Job description
The role involves working as a Mechatronics systems design engineer within a multidisciplinary team at KLA, focusing on developing metrology equipment for the semiconductor industry. The team aims to address complex challenges faced by customers in advanced semiconductor manufacturing. The position requires strong technical skills and the ability to work independently on data collection and analysis. The engineer will also engage in hands-on work in labs and cleanrooms to gather necessary data.
Requirements
- Doctorate degree with 1+ years of related work experience, or a Master's degree with 4 years of related work experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 6 years of related work experience.
- Strong experience in requirements definition and precision motion system design.
- Experience in motor and air-bearing development, CFD-based thermal/flow analysis, and experimental validation of complex mechatronic systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of numerical optimization and image processing is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-impact work across the area of expertise to advance business priorities.
- Work independently on data collection, analysis, calibration, and writing scripts using Python or Matlab.
- Perform hands-on work with hardware and gather necessary data in the lab or cleanroom.
- Define plans for system integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Translate customer and system requirements into test plans, engineering models, and robust hardware designs.
