Job description
The Product Development Engineer will work in the System Engineering group at KLA, focusing on advancing chemical analysis technology for semiconductor manufacturing. This role involves conceptualizing, developing, and testing next-generation devices, requiring collaboration with various engineering teams. The engineer will analyze requirements, evaluate technologies, and define specifications for new devices. Strong communication skills are essential for interaction with suppliers and internal teams.
Requirements
- Master's Level Degree and 0 years related work experience or Bachelor's Level Degree with 2 years of related work experience.
- Experience or related study in microfluidic systems, material science, spectrophotometry, mechanical/electrical engineering, or physics.
- Familiarity with scientific and statistical analysis tools such as Matlab, Python, and LabView.
- Strong background in engineering or physical sciences with demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of mechanical, fiber-optic, fluidic, and electromechanical systems.
Responsibilities
- Work with Applications, R&D, and engineering to define requirements and develop specifications for the chemical analysis process.
- Develop improvement plans and test plans required to meet requirements and drive vendors to execute those plans.
- Evaluate and test materials used for devices or new designs to determine compatibility with application chemistry.
- Conceptualize and bring to fruition new device designs when none exist, defining requirements and gaps.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering groups to define and review designs and test plans.
