Job description
As a Vice President in the Core Enterprise Platform engineering group, you will act as a technical architect and leader, driving key initiatives and providing strategic direction to global agile teams. Your focus will be on high-priority, greenfield development projects that support Goldman Sachs' OneGS transformation initiative. You will lead the creation of modern, cloud-native applications on AWS, utilizing AI capabilities and scalable data solutions. This role offers the opportunity to influence both technology and finance initiatives while collaborating with senior management across various divisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related technical discipline
- 8-12 years of hands-on software development experience, including lead developer roles
- Experience architecting solutions on Cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience with integrating LLMs into enterprise workflows
- Experience utilizing AI coding tools such as Copilot or Claude Code for development
- Proficiency in developing preferably in Java or Python, and competence in traditional and modern datastores
- Proven experience building and launching new software applications from scratch
- Strong full-stack technical design and development skills
- Experience managing engineering teams and guiding career development for staff
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with technical and business audiences globally
- Preferred experience in the finance, banking, or FinTech industry
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable cloud-native business systems
- Manage, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of software and AI engineers
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and technical excellence
- Run AI-driven spec-driven development SDLCs to solve complex financial and technical problems
- Champion and enact organizational change
- Streamline engineering processes and improve cross-functional workflows
- Drive the adoption of new technologies and best practices across the department
- Maintain strong organizational oversight of multiple concurrent projects
- Build and maintain key financial metric calculation models and associated infrastructure
- Work closely with a wide range of stakeholders globally across multiple divisions
