As a Software Development Engineer II on the Remediation Engineering Team at AWS, you will design, build, and operate services that address vulnerabilities across AWS at scale. The team focuses on automating mitigation, remediation, and assessment processes to enhance security without manual intervention. You will work closely with security engineers to develop tools that streamline investigation and remediation workflows. This role requires a strong understanding of distributed systems and a commitment to operational excellence.

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and operations
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience in security, vulnerability management, or host/container infrastructure

• Design, implement, and operate services that mitigate and remediate vulnerabilities across AWS fleets.
• Build contextualization that prioritizes risk for service teams to act on critical vulnerabilities first.
• Own the full lifecycle of your software, including requirements, design reviews, implementation, and testing.
• Develop tooling that security engineers use for investigation and remediation workflows.
• Ensure changes to production hosts and containers are safe, reversible, and observable.
• Raise the bar on operational excellence through metrics and continuous improvement.
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to the team's technical direction.
