Job description

The New College Graduate SoC Software Engineer role at NVIDIA focuses on developing foundational technology for accelerated computing within CPU and Data Center environments. The position involves working with a world-class team to build and maintain software for complex heterogeneous computing systems. This role offers the opportunity to engage in system-level challenges while collaborating with various teams to bring new computing platforms to life. Ideal candidates will be creative software engineers passionate about low-level technology and problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Pursuing or recently completed a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong C or C++ programming skills and an understanding of object-oriented design.
  • Familiarity with low-level systems software, device drivers, firmware, embedded software, or hardware-facing programming.
  • A foundational understanding of processor and computer architecture, preferably ARM.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with curiosity about how hardware and software work together.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop SoC software, validation solutions, and test frameworks for CPU, SoC, and GPU-based platforms.
  • Build next-generation system validation and reliability software that supports the journey from virtual prototypes and first silicon to production-ready hardware.
  • Contribute to system software architecture and collaborate with internal teams to integrate new capabilities across the software stack.
  • Work closely with architecture, ASIC, firmware, platform, and new product introduction teams to understand requirements.
  • Investigate challenging hardware and software issues, develop creative solutions, and improve the performance, reliability, power efficiency, and serviceability of platforms.
  • Explore emerging technologies and industry standards to solve real-world engineering problems.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
