Job description
The Research Intern will join the Autonomous Vehicle Applied Research team at NVIDIA, focusing on advancing safe autonomy through generative world models and synthetic data. This role involves collaborating with researchers and engineers to develop models that understand and simulate complex driving environments. The intern will engage in research on generative data engines for autonomous driving, contributing to the development of new methods and conducting experiments. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact research and contribute to publications in top-tier conferences.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Ph.D. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- Research experience in deep learning, computer vision, generative modeling, multimodal learning, robotics, or autonomous driving.
- Strong foundations in machine learning and deep learning, with hands-on experience developing and evaluating neural-network models.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience with modern deep learning frameworks.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and comfortable working in a research environment with open-ended problems.
Responsibilities
- Research and prototype generative world models, traffic world models, and synthetic-data generation methods for autonomous driving.
- Develop traffic world models that capture multi-agent interactions and realistic, reactive behaviors.
- Explore how generative video models and multimodal learning can improve training-data quality and coverage.
- Design and conduct experiments to understand how generated data affects AV model performance.
- Collaborate closely with researchers and engineers across NVIDIA on research prototypes and experimental systems.
Benefits
- Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
