Job description
NVIDIA is seeking a motivated Senior DTCO Engineer for CPU Physical Design to join their dynamic team. This role focuses on evaluating advanced semiconductor foundry nodes to optimize next-generation CPU microarchitecture. The engineer will coordinate with foundry partners, IP development, and hardware design teams during early technology development phases. The position offers an opportunity to work in a diverse and innovative environment, contributing to the future of computing.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in advanced-node silicon design.
- Strong background in physical-design methodology.
- Ability to analyze physical implementation constraints and develop technology solutions to improve power, performance, and area.
- Proficiency with Python, Tcl, Perl, or similar scripting languages.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate advanced process technologies and shape technology choices for next-generation CPUs.
- Run synthesis, place-and-route, and static timing analysis to assess process features' effects on power, performance, and area.
- Collaborate with foundry, IP, and hardware design teams during early technology development.
- Use early pathfinding blocks to identify implementation bottlenecks and project technology-node scaling.
- Evaluate competitive products and benchmarks to understand technology and design trade-offs.
Benefits
- Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
