Job description

The Senior Circuit Design Engineer at NVIDIA will be part of a global circuits team focused on innovative circuit design for hardware security, adaptive clocking, and power management solutions. This role involves driving the design and physical implementation of custom digital IPs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product performance, and integrating AI/ML techniques into the design process. The engineer will also mentor junior team members and develop prototypes of patentable ideas. This position is crucial for shaping the future of NVIDIA's next-generation products.

Requirements

  • BSEE/MS preferred in Electrical, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of digital circuit design experience for Masters and 8+ years for Bachelors.
  • Excellent understanding of deep submicron process issues and digital circuit design techniques.
  • Hands on experience running Spice simulations, EM/IR analysis, and static timing analysis/closure.
  • Basic understanding and experience working with layout (drc, lvs) and/or PnR tools.
  • Hands on experience in design and analysis of low power circuits is a plus.
  • Experience with RTL, logic synthesis and verification is a plus.
  • Mixed signal circuit design experience is also a plus.
  • Proficiency in scripting language, such as Python, Perl, Tcl, Make, and automation methods/algorithms is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in groundbreaking processor design in deep submicron technologies.
  • Design innovative circuits for hardware security, adaptive clocking, and power management solutions.
  • Drive the design and physical implementation of custom digital IPs from RTL to layout using industry standard tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve power, performance, area, and reliability of products.
  • Develop prototypes of patentable ideas on test chips and drive them to deployment across product lines.
  • Perform transistor-level circuit design, schematic entry, and layout delivery.
  • Integrate AI/ML techniques directly into the design process and methodology.
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior team members.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
