As a Lead Customer Safety Engineer at NVIDIA, you will be instrumental in assisting automotive customers with the integration of NVIDIA hardware into safety-critical products. This role involves acting as the primary technical safety liaison between customers and internal safety groups, ensuring compliance with rigorous safety standards. You will collaborate with various engineering teams and mentor junior engineers, making your contributions vital to the success of both NVIDIA and its clients. This position is centered around hardware safety and requires a deep understanding of functional safety in the automotive sector.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, hardware engineering, or a related field.
• At least 12 years of experience, with more than 3 years in automotive functional safety, chip or ECU development, or customer safety engineering.
• Solid understanding of ISO 26262 and hardware safety concepts.
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead complex technical discussions with automotive OEMs and cross-functional teams.

• Represent NVIDIA’s functional safety strategy and architectures to the customer.
• Serve as the principal customer interface for hardware safety topics.
• Assist customers to safely integrate and validate our products in their systems and vehicles.
• Coordinate Development Interface Agreements and clarify safety responsibilities.
• Support customer-facing safety collaterals and tailor functional safety platforms.
• Lead resolution of customer safety questions and engage NVIDIA subject-matter experts.
• Mentor junior customer safety engineers and establish consistent practices.
• Work closely with safety management, solution architects, and engineering teams.
