The Product Design Mechanical Engineer will lead the end-to-end design and development of electrical power distribution equipment for AWS data centers. This role is part of the Electrical Products and Services team, which focuses on creating resilient electrical distribution products that enhance operational efficiency. The engineer will collaborate with various internal teams to define design requirements and ensure compliance with industry standards. This position offers an opportunity to work on innovative solutions that significantly impact AWS's infrastructure.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of experience leading new product design, development, testing, and manufacturing support of electronic components
• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
• Experience with building codes and regulations for your region
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents

• Work with internal partner teams to solicit customer input and define design requirements for product design
• Lead new product design, development, and qualification of critical electrical power distribution equipment for AWS data centers
• Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, IEC, and federal, state, and municipal requirements and building codes
• Validate design through prototype, pre-production, and first-of-kind builds, conducting DFx and value engineering analysis
• Work with field engineering and commissioning teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical products
• Provide support for manufacturing activities for new products on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations
• Be a leader within the product development team as well as within internal and external teams that support the data center
