As a Software Development Engineer on the Labor Insights team, you will design and develop the next generation of Amazon's labor management platform. This role involves building systems that process billions of labor events and serve real-time productivity reports to operations managers globally. You will work on a variety of projects, including event processing pipelines and AI-powered tools, while ensuring high availability and performance. The team focuses on modernizing existing systems and leveraging AWS technologies to support Amazon's global warehouse network.

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience with design patterns, reliability, and scaling
• 1+ years of experience as a software development engineer or in a related role
• 1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, or distributed software applications
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and code reviews

• Design, develop, and test software components across Labor Insights' ingestion, aggregation, reporting, and configuration layers.
• Build new services using AI-assisted development practices and tools.
• Design large-scale data processing solutions optimized for high throughput and low-latency access.
• Drive service consolidation and modernization by migrating from legacy infrastructure to Native AWS.
• Participate in the definition of coding standards and apply them in code and design reviews.
• Provide estimates for development tasks and negotiate timelines with project leaders.
• Mentor junior team members and help them acquire critical skills and best practices.
• Document and communicate technical concepts to team members and stakeholders.
• Identify technical and project risks and take initiative to mitigate them.
