The AWS Operations Management (AWSOM) Team is seeking highly motivated Senior Systems Development Engineers to balance day-to-day operations with long-term software engineering. This role focuses on reducing operational toil and improving the reliability, performance, and efficiency of AWS software systems. Engineers will collaborate across diverse teams to solve challenging technical problems and automate processes at scale. The team is dedicated to innovation and mentorship, fostering an inclusive culture that values diverse experiences.

• 5+ years of deploying and operating in a Linux/Unix environment experience
• 5+ years of systems development in an IT or data center environment experience
• 3+ years of systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement experience
• 3+ years of programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby experience
• Experience leading the design, build and deployment of complex and performant software solutions in production
