The Sr. Power Systems Engineer, Energy Storage will join the Power Generation Solutions team at AWS, focusing on developing advanced electrical systems and energy storage solutions for data centers. This role involves collaborating with various teams to optimize power delivery and ensure high availability at low costs. The engineer will tackle complex power system challenges and guide cross-functional teams in making critical design decisions. A strong background in power systems and energy storage is essential for driving innovation and supporting AWS's mission.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• 6+ years of experience with power systems or electrical design
• Experience with dynamic and transient power system modeling software, such as PSCAD or PSSE
• Knowledge of energy storage equipment and systems, including battery energy storage systems
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and electrical drawing packages
• Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance
• Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent is preferred
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or R

• Develop designs and analysis of different energy storage technologies
• Support the integration of energy storage systems with various power sources
• Understand current trends in data center power demands and grid integration
• Evaluate power demands throughout the data center architecture
• Interpret and develop engineering drawings and performance data
• Provide input for design revisions for new data centers
• Work independently and collaborate with Senior and Principal Engineers
• Manage concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions
