The Network Development Engineer will join the AWS Core Networking team, focusing on building, deploying, and scaling Amazon networks across global datacenters. This role involves collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure network stability and efficiency. The engineer will be responsible for implementing changes, optimizing network performance, and providing critical support during large-scale networking events. The position emphasizes innovation and the application of best practices in network engineering.

• 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
• 4+ years of technical support experience or experience taking ownership and driving resolution on escalated customer issues
• 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl experience
• 4+ years of experience in a network-focused hands-on technical role working with IP routing protocols/technologies and platforms in large scale data center and/or WAN network environments
• Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing, and Network Security architecture and core technologies

• Create and implement changes on the network
• Work closely with automation teams to define scaling tools
• Lead network projects in areas such as deployment, scaling, and optimization
• Sustain AWS networks by providing critical support during large-scale networking events
• Operate and troubleshoot network routing and performance issues
• Drive and support innovation across the network infrastructure
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure smooth roll-out of new designs and products
• Maintain standards across the networking toolset and ensure compliance
• Deliver simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions
• Create and review documentation regarding network implementations and procedures
