The Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) role involves embedding within a strategic enterprise customer to design, build, deploy, and manage AI-powered production systems. FDEs are responsible for writing production-grade software and ensuring successful outcomes from prototype to enterprise-scale deployment. The position emphasizes creating reusable architectures and engineering mechanisms that enhance the FDE practice. • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience as a mentor or tech lead for an engineering team
• Experience communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience leading agentic and spec-driven development at production scale
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience building or deploying AI/ML applications at enterprise production scale
• Experience architecting and delivering complex, multi-component systems
• Experience with AWS services
• Experience with React, TypeScript, Python, and/or Go
• 3+ years of experience working in an Agile, startup, or rapidly scaling environment

• Lead technical delivery across customer engagements and own the technical strategy for AI programs.
• Architect and build production AI systems at scale, designing foundational architectures for complex engagements.
• Define operational standards and production readiness criteria for AI systems.
• Establish mechanisms to ensure AI systems remain healthy and drive operational improvements.
• Define engineering patterns and mentor junior FDEs to become independent contributors.
• Identify opportunities to expand AI adoption across the customer organization and create reusable platforms.
