The Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE III) role focuses on shaping the next generation of guided visual experiences for Amazon Connect customers. The position is part of the Guides & Views team within the Digital Messaging Engine organization, which is responsible for creating dynamic, interactive interfaces for agents and customers. This high-ownership role involves technical design and architecture for complex problems across various platforms and modalities. The team is dedicated to evolving the customer experience through innovative AI solutions and no-code tooling.

• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor or tech lead in an engineering team.
• Experience with front-end technologies such as React and TypeScript, as well as back-end service development.
• 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

• Own and drive technical design for complex problems across the Guides & Views stack.
• Architect platform capabilities that serve both the Guides product and internal consumers.
• Lead the evolution of Views to a multi-surface, multi-channel platform.
• Design and implement AI integration points for guided visual experiences.
• Raise the technical bar through code reviews and mentoring of junior engineers.
• Influence the roadmap by identifying technical investments that unlock customer value.
• Own operational health and participate in on-call rotations.
