The Senior Machine Learning Engineer will act as a technical leader, focusing on the design and delivery of large-scale ML systems that significantly impact the business. This role involves defining the ML architecture and technical strategy for the team while influencing cross-organizational decisions. The engineer will lead the development of production-grade AI services, mentor a team of ML engineers, and drive the adoption of ML best practices. This position requires deep technical expertise and the ability to navigate complex problem spaces.

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience as a mentor or tech lead for an engineering team
• Experience with training and deploying machine learning systems for large-scale optimizations
• 4+ years of distributed systems experience or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant quantitative field
• Experience with Machine Learning and Large Language Model fundamentals
• 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience defining ML platform strategy and building reusable ML infrastructure

• Define and drive the ML technical strategy and architecture for the team and adjacent teams
• Design and lead the implementation of complex, multi-model ML systems at Amazon scale
• Architect ML platforms and frameworks for rapid experimentation and deployment
• Lead the design of real-time and batch ML serving infrastructure with high availability
• Drive adoption of ML best practices including MLOps and model governance
• Evaluate and introduce new ML technologies and methodologies
• Lead cross-functional initiatives spanning science, engineering, product, and business teams
• Influence technical decisions through design and architecture reviews
• Mentor and develop L4 and L5 ML engineers
• Drive operational excellence by defining SLAs and automating incident response
