The Senior Front-End Mobile Engineer will be responsible for building the mobile experience for Aza, Amazon's AI Assistant, on both iOS and Android platforms. This hands-on role emphasizes high-fidelity conversational and voice interfaces, requiring close collaboration with designers to ensure a polished user experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive React Native expertise and a proven track record of delivering high-quality mobile applications. The position involves working across the full mobile stack and raising the standards of mobile engineering within the team.

• 4+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience
• 5+ years of front-end development experience creating prototypes or wire-frames for enterprise web applications or workflows
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical degree or related experience
• 4+ years of UI Automation experience, preferably on mobile platforms
• Demonstrated experience with React Native's New Architecture and leading major RN version upgrades
• Working fluency with native mobile tooling such as Xcode, CocoaPods, Gradle, code signing, and beta distribution
• Experience writing unit and component tests for UI code using Jest or equivalent
• Knowledge of web services technologies such as SOAP, HTTP, WSDL, XSD, and REST

• Build and own the mobile experience for Aza across iOS and Android using React Native
• Implement complex UI animations and gestures using Reanimated and custom navigation transitions
• Build conversational UI components including streaming rendering and markdown rendering
• Implement voice interaction features using Amazon Nova and Polly
• Integrate real-time client features such as streaming responses and connection recovery
• Build and extend the shared component library and design-token system used across PXT AI products
• Implement multi-brand theming at scale supporting light/dark modes
• Drive React Native version upgrades and adopt the New Architecture to improve performance
• Ensure accessibility in mobile applications according to WCAG standards
• Implement internationalization and localization across multiple languages
• Build feature-flagged, incremental rollout workflows for new features
• Partner closely with product designers to provide implementation insights and improve designs
• Write unit and component tests for UI code and contribute to CI/CD infrastructure
• Practice secure client engineering to protect sensitive information
• Mentor other front-end engineers through code review and knowledge-sharing
