The PCB Design Engineer will be a key member of the Amazon Leo Government team, focusing on the design and analysis of satellite and ground systems. This role involves working with various communication and control needs of electronics sub-systems to deliver innovative solutions. The engineer will lead tasks such as schematic review, PCB layout, and board testing. Collaboration with other engineers and direct interaction with customers to meet their technical requirements will be essential.

• 4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
• Proficiency in industry-standard EDA tools such as Altium Designer or Cadence Allegro
• Strong understanding of PCB manufacturing processes and materials
• Experience with multi-layer board design of 16+ layers
• Knowledge of high-speed digital design principles including DDR and PCIe
• Familiarity with IPC standards such as IPC-2221 and IPC-7351
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Experience with prototyping and implementation
• Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools

• Interact directly with customers to understand technical requirements and translate them into robust solutions.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and firmware teams to optimize board layouts.
• Apply design-for-manufacturing and design-for-test principles to ensure producibility and testability.
• Manage design constraints including impedance control and high-speed signal integrity.
• Generate fabrication and assembly documentation including Gerber files and bill of materials.
• Conduct design rule checks and electrical rule checks to verify design integrity.
• Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations for layout improvements.
• Design and support test campaigns for space hardware.
