- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, including shipping ML to production.
- Strong general software engineering and debugging skills, and fluency in Python.
- Hands-on experience owning problems across the full ML stack: data/feature pipelines, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
- Hands-on experience with the AWS ML stack or equivalent technologies.
- Computer vision and perception experience on real-world sensor data.
- Experience as the sole or lead ML engineer on a team of otherwise non-ML engineers.
- Familiarity with robotics data and tooling, including ROS 2 and sensor fusion.
- Experience fine-tuning and evaluating open models and building evaluation harnesses.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of systems that operate in AWS data centers.
- Collaborate with robotics and software engineers to ensure model outputs are usable downstream.
- Drive innovations in data center operations through technical leadership.
- Collect and analyze rich sensor data to improve machine learning models.
- Participate in the full machine learning lifecycle from data collection to model deployment.
Benefits
- Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
