This role is focused on designing, building, and maintaining foundational software for Amazon Leo's satellite communications technologies aimed at U.S. Government customers. The position requires deep expertise in high-assurance, fault-tolerant software and proficiency in modern programming languages like Rust. The team works in a fast-paced environment, addressing complex challenges in secure satellite communications. The role is based in Sunnyvale, CA, and requires onsite work five days a week due to the sensitive nature of the projects.

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
• 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
• Experience as a mentor or tech lead in an engineering team
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

• Utilize network layer packet processing experience to develop high data rate packet processing systems.
• Demonstrate the capabilities of the interfaces and architectures in a simulated test environment.
• Solve complex technical problems related to the use of the Amazon Leo constellation for Government customers.
• Lead internal and vendor teams to develop and deliver software and interface requirements.
• Ensure systems meet performance needs including availability, reliability, and security requirements.
• Effectively communicate project health, risks, and issues to stakeholders and management teams.
• Escalate urgent issues appropriately and drive them to closure in a timely manner.
• Provide visualizations, document results, and communicate them across multi-disciplinary project teams.
