As a Systems Development Engineer on EC2 Core Platforms Engineering, you will work at the intersection of hardware and software to launch new compute platforms and ensure the reliability of the core fleet. Your role involves bringing up and validating new EC2 server platforms while diagnosing and reducing failures across a large-scale server fleet. You will also focus on building automation tools to streamline platform launches, making them faster and more reliable. Collaboration with hardware engineering and other teams will be essential as you work on some of the largest compute fleets in the world.

• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 1+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems experience
• 3+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems, and hands-on systems engineering experience
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals including networking, storage, and operating systems
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby
• Knowledge of hardware platforms
• Experience working with engineering and product teams to define a product and bring it to market

• Diagnose and reduce hardware and software failures across a large-scale server fleet using a data-driven approach.
• Build software and automation that streamline how new platforms are introduced, reducing manual effort in provisioning and deployment.
